#22 - Church is Family

October 06, 2025

In this Sunday Rewind, we unpack why we call it parent commissioning (not just baby dedication), how the church truly functions as family, and how Paul’s words in Colossians 2:1–5 call us from spectators to participants in the life of the body.

We talk about Paul “agonizing” in prayer for believers he’s never met, being “knit together in love,” and pursuing the full assurance of our salvation. We also tackle the consumer mindset that crept into church life (especially post-COVID), the limits of “virtual only,” and how to discern today’s “plausible arguments” online—loving our neighbors without redefining love as blanket affirmation. Along the way we clarify justification vs. sanctification and why our confidence rests in Christ’s finished work, not our fluctuating feelings.
