#27 - A New Wardrobe

November 17, 2025

Pastor Brandon and Pastor Joel sit down on a Monday morning to rewind Sunday’s message, “The Christian’s New Wardrobe,” from Colossians 3:12–17. They unpack what it really means to “put on” the character of Christ—compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, forgiveness, and love—and how our identity in Christ is meant to shape every relationship and every corner of our lives.

Along the way, they celebrate what God is doing at Hopewell: a powerful student retreat with salvations, mission teams returning and preparing to go out again, a pastors’ conference in Honduras, and seven more believers following Christ in baptism. They also talk honestly about navigating family gatherings during the holidays—how to love well, stand on truth without blowing up Thanksgiving, and remember that our goal is to win people, not just arguments.

They finish by exploring how the peace of Christ “umpires” our hearts, why the Word and the Spirit can’t be separated, and how psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs help embed God’s truth deep in our hearts. It’s a practical, encouraging conversation to help you live out your new identity in Christ this week—at home, at work, and around the holiday table.
