#53 - Just Enough

What happens when God doesn’t give you an abundance—but gives you exactly what you need for today?

In this episode of The Sunday Rewind, Pastor Brandon and Joel continue through Elijah’s story in 1 Kings 17 and the widow of Zarephath. God sends Elijah into enemy territory and chooses an unlikely person—a widow who is herself nearly out of food—to provide for him. It’s another reminder that God’s provision doesn’t always come from the places or people we expect.

The conversation gets especially practical around the widow’s flour and oil. God could have filled her storehouse, but instead, there was just enough each day. Why? Because sometimes abundance can tempt us to trust the provision rather than the Provider. Daily dependence keeps bringing us back to the source of everything we have.

They also discuss how the difficult circumstances we desperately want God to remove may sometimes be the very circumstances He uses to shape our character and deepen our dependence on Him. We may not always see or understand what God is doing, but we can trust Him in the middle of it.

Ultimately, the story points beyond flour and oil to Jesus Christ—the sufficient provision for those who trust in Him, regardless of their circumstances.
