Passage: Colossians
When God designed the home, He started with a marriage. In this message, we look at how Christ reshapes the husband–wife relationship—moving it from self-centered to Spirit-led. From Genesis to Ephesians, Scripture shows marriage as a covenant where wives honor Christ by supporting godly leadership and husbands reflect Christ by loving sacrificially. This isn’t about power plays—it’s about purpose, power, and principle: living for God’s design, walking in the Spirit, and submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.
You’ll learn how to:
Live for God’s purpose in marriage—two become one for His glory (Gen. 2:24; Eph. 5:31).
Rely on God’s power—marriage thrives only by the Word dwelling richly and the Spirit filling daily (Col. 3:16–17; Eph. 5:18).
Practice God’s principle—mutual humility and Christlike service shape every interaction (Eph. 5:21).
Husbands: Love like Jesus—tender, steady, sacrificial (Eph. 5:25–29).
Wives: Honor like Jesus—strong, wise, and willing (Col. 3:18; Prov. 31:11–12).
This week’s practice:
Pray together daily: “Holy Spirit, rule our words and ways.”
Husbands—one sacrificial act of love (unasked, unannounced).
Wives—one intentional act of respect (specific, spoken).
Both—memorize Ephesians 5:21 and ask, “How can I rank myself under Christ—and serve you—today?”
