Passage: Colossians 2:6-15

“Established in the Faith” — Colossians 2:6–15

When false ideas sound persuasive and faith feels pressured, how do Christians stand firm? In this message, we unpack Paul’s call to be rooted, built up, and established in Christ. Colossians 2:6–15 anchors us in three essentials:

1) Grounded in His Truth (vv. 6–7)
“As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.” A steady, everyday walk—with deep roots and a solid foundation—produces maturity and a thankful heart.

2) Guarded by His Sufficiency (vv. 8–10)
“See to it that no one takes you captive…” Paul warns against empty philosophies and cultural counterfeits. In Jesus “the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,” and you are complete in Him—no add-ons needed.

3) Grateful for His Victory (vv. 11–15)
At the cross, Jesus canceled our record of debt and disarmed the powers—a public triumph. We don’t fight for victory; we live from the victory Christ has already won.

Scripture: Colossians 2:6–15
Big Idea: A faith that’s grounded in truth, a mind guarded by Christ’s sufficiency, and a heart grateful for His victory—this is what it means to be established in the faith.

Key Takeaways:

Keep walking in the same gospel you received.
Test every idea by Christ and His Word.
Live forgiven and free—your debt is nailed to the cross.
Share this with someone who needs courage to stand firm today.
