Passage: Genesis 44:1-34

The Road to Reconciliation (Genesis 44:1–34; 45:1–15)

What does real reconciliation look like? In one of the most moving scenes in all of Scripture, Joseph’s long-lost brothers stand before the very man they betrayed 22 years earlier. Their journey reveals four key steps that God still uses to restore broken relationships today:
1. Brokenness – when pride crumbles and the heart softens
2. Confession – when excuses end and truth is spoken
3. Repentance – when change takes root and we choose a different path
4. Forgiveness – when grace opens the door to restoration

Along the way, we see how Joseph’s story points to something greater—the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who took our place and offers forgiveness to all who repent.
Whether you’ve been wronged or you’re the one who caused the hurt, this message will give you biblical hope that reconciliation is possible. The God who restored Joseph’s family can restore yours too.
