Jesus doesn’t just call us to Himself—He sends us into the world.

In Mark 6:7–13, Jesus sends the twelve disciples out as His representatives. They didn’t know who would welcome them, how their needs would be met, or what opposition they would face. Their confidence wasn’t found in perfect circumstances, but in knowing who sent them and what He sent them to do.

Their mission teaches us what it means to live as people who have been sent by Jesus:

• The Authority for the Mission — We don't serve in our own strength. Christ supplies what we need.
• The Simplicity of the Mission — Travel light, eliminate distractions, and trust God to provide.
• The Hostility to the Mission — Rejection should never keep us from obedience.
• The Clarity of the Mission — We have been sent to proclaim the gospel and call people to repentance and faith in Jesus.

Every follower of Jesus is a witness. Our workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and everyday relationships aren't merely places we happen to be—they are opportunities to make Christ known. A simple challenge for this week: Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to one person with whom you can share Christ.

God sent His Son into the world on a rescue mission. Jesus died for sinners, rose again, and now sends His people to carry the good news to those who need to hear it. We have been sent. Let’s not lose sight of the mission.
